A5(21 × 14.8cm)/ 8.3 x 5.8"
A standard since 2004, these spiral bound notebooks open completely flat for flexibility.
We use a lot of notebooks. Writing an idea down allows us to move onto other thoughts. The spontaneous mixture of thoughts keeps the flow of ideas going. It’s almost impossible to tell how a note that you make today will connect with another idea next week. Pressed Cotton cover. 55 sheets, 110 pages. Made in Japan.
Material

Pin-graph paper

Versatile paper with a texture that keeps the pen from slipping too easily and makes it an ideal writing surface to keep thoughts flowing. Suitable for writing or drawing. Page thickness prevents most show-through. This paper is ecologically made and chlorine free. Notebook pages are printed with Pin-graph, Postalco's original 1x1mm blue graph paper.

Pressed Cotton

Our Pressed Cotton fabrics are PFAS-free / do not contain PFAS “forever chemicals”.
This fabric is made with the same machines that were used to make tent fabric. The base color of the white threads will become more apparent and it will soften with use. To keep the natural feeling of the material we did not waterproof coat the surface. There is a light water resistant treatment. Cotton is a natural material so slubs and irregularity in the fibers are part of its character. It is possible for wrinkles to appear as well.

Care

If your item gets wet, pat dry with a soft cloth to absorb any liquid. With strong rubbing the color may come off leaving light spots. Please shade dry in a well ventilated area. If placed near air conditioners or heaters the item may warp.

A notebook is a coral reef for your ideas.
In a coral reef, fish sleep under a ledge, an octopus hides in a cave, and shrimp scale the walls. Coral is a perfect habitat because of the many spaces it creates. A small notebook also has a surprisingly large amount of surface area. Your thoughts find homes in the caves, ledges and crevices of a notebook. Your ideas take new directions, echo off each other, and make new connections. A notebook is a coral reef for your ideas.

Tool for thinking
Fresh page. Clear mind. Writing thoughts on paper will make things more clear. Label the spines so you can keep them organized on a bookshelf. Clarity is freedom.

Don’t write on a trampoline
There is nothing worse than a notebook with pages that bend like a hill making the page so curved and bouncy that it’s like trying to write on a trampoline. Problem solved. Our spiral binding means a completely flat and solid place to write.

Pressed Cotton cover
Starch-pressed cotton is bonded to the cover of these notebooks. The colors will lighten with use and the weave of the fabric will become more apparent. The fabric is water-resistant. Our Pressed Cotton fabrics are PFAS-free / do not contain PFAS “forever chemicals”.

Free format
No rigid system to limit your creativity. Use these notebooks horizontally or vertically.

Use the full page
When the cover is folded back, it sticks out on the bottom giving the hand an edge to rest on. This makes it easier to write to the bottom of the page.

This tiny grid
A grain of sand. The thickness of a fingernail. A pencil point. These are all one millimeter. And our grid lines are spaced at one millimeter. Large enough to use when you need it. Small enough to ignore when you don't. We love this tiny grid. It's the classic paper we created when we designed these notebooks more than 15 years ago. Precisely printed in Japan.

The size of A5, A6, A7.

Pressed Cotton over time
Sturdy Pressed Cotton cover ages beautifully over time as the weave pattern becomes more apparent.

All types of notebooks
When we made these notebooks, there were not many options. There were leather bound notebooks from Italy that felt too precious for daily use and there were purely functional school notebooks, but little in between.

Learning from Japan
The craftspeople, suppliers, and small workshops found in Japan make things not to be found anywhere else. We are fortunate to work with family businesses that are so focused on their craft. Don’t put Postalco items on a shelf or in a drawer. Their beauty is revealed through daily use. They will help you feel good at home and be ready in a meeting.
