Viewpoint in the Fog
BON BOOK
A hectic morning. Playful children. Never-ending housework.
Postalco’s ideas are born from the chaos of daily life.
Every project is a prototype for another version in the future. - Viewpoint in the Fog
We are pleased to announce our latest publication, "Viewpoint in the Fog”.
168 pages
Bilingual Edition: Japanese and English. (the only difference between the Japanese and English edition is the language of the exterior belly band).
This book focuses on the philosophy and craftsmanship of POSTALCO, a brand that continues to create tools thoughtfully developed through physical acts of making, which they call “thinking through the body.” From small notebooks to furniture, their perspective has broadened to include a variety of lifestyle-related products, all seamlessly integrated into everyday life.
No meaningful design can emerge from a perfectly orderly environment.
- Viewpoint in the Fog
POSTALCO was founded in 2000 by Mike and Yuri Abelson in Brooklyn, New York. Deliberately distancing themselves from fleeting trends, they create items they personally want. Marking their 25th anniversary, this book offers a behind-the-scenes look at POSTALCO. In their introduction, Mike and Yuri describe the act of creating something new through careful observation to "moving forward through dense fog" inspiring the book’s title, "Viewpoint in the Fog.”
The only difference between the Japanese and English versions is the belly band on the cover. Regardless of which version you choose, the content is fully bilingual in both Japanese and English.
