Stay warm and move free.
We developed this shape to fit effortlessly. One long piece of fabric goes all the way from one hand to the other. This means that there are no thick seams on the shoulders and the coat can hang naturally feeling like a light soft layer of warmth. This coat is made with 100% Merino, one of the finest wools. The soft extended collar folds up to keep your warmth from escaping. Wear over a sweater or other layer. This coat combines elements of a traditional melton wool coat with a softer more contemporary shape. Hidden side seam hand warmer pockets in addition to a large zipper pouch set at 45° angle on the front so you can reach it anytime effortlessly. Unisex. Woven and sewn in Japan.

Why do we make so few sizes?
We pattern our clothing to fit as many bodies as we can. Less size variation also means less wasted fabric and less overproduction.

Clothing for men? Or women?
Postalco items have always been non gendered. Beginning with the very first Legal Envelopes we made back in 2000.

Material

Solid Melton Wool

Custom wool developed for its beautiful texture and warmth. We developed this fabric with a woolen mill in Japan that has over 100 years of experience. Melton wools are traditionally used for coats and blankets because they are comfortable as well as wind and weather resistant. Merino wool doesn’t have the coarse, itchy feel of standard wool because merino fibers are much finer than standard sheep’s wool. Cultivated from merino sheep, this type of wool has superior shine and great breathability. Natural microscopic waves in the fiber give this material its ability to keep you warm. Made for Postalco in Japan.

・Do not machine wash.
・Do not bleach.

100% Merino wool
Australian merino sheep grow their wool year round, consuming a simple blend of water, air, sunshine, and grass. Every year, these sheep produce a new fleece, making wool a completely renewable fiber that can be removed without harm to the animal. Wool is a natural resource which is both renewable and biodegradable. At the end of the life of each wool garment valuable nutrients are released back into the earth.

Renewable wool
Postalco Solid Wool is constructed with dense 100% Merino wool—naturally water repellent and insulating, even when wet. Transforming the fleece that grows on sheep into a beautiful fabric is a process that requires experience and craft. Our fabric is developed in a factory that has made wool for over 100 years. This material is produced expressly for us in Japan.

Superior insulation
The inherent natural three dimensional crimp of the wool fiber traps pockets of still air, insulating your skin from the cold environment and keeping you warmer. Wool maintains a drier microclimate next to skin, keeping you warm and dry.

Learning from Japan
The craftspeople, suppliers, and small workshops found in Japan make things not to be found anywhere else. We are fortunate to work with family businesses that are so focused on their craft. Don’t put Postalco items on a shelf or in a drawer. Their beauty is revealed through daily use. They will help you feel good at home and be ready in a meeting.
