Fit of Postalco Clothing

If all rocks and trees were the same shape, the world would be disturbingly boring.

Our bodies vary

A person’s body changes over time, and even within a single day. If we want our clothes to last longer they should fit a larger range of bodies. Features like sleeves that roll up easily, offset shoulder seams, and shapes that drape allow our clothing to fit more people, more comfortably.

Movement

Our functional garments are designed for exceptional freedom of movement in daily living. Mobility is a basic human need. The engineering of the clothing is complicated, but it’s designed to be used naturally.

Why do we make so few sizes?

We pattern our clothing to fit as many bodies as we can. Less size variation also means less wasted fabric and less overproduction.

Clothing for men? Or women?

Postalco items have always been non gendered. Beginning with the very first Legal Envelopes we made back in 2000.

Material

Proof Line Nylon

This rainwear fabric—while soft and lightweight—is completely waterproof. What looks like one layer is actually three layers bonded together—with each layer having a different function. The outer layer is durable water resistant treated nylon that feels like cotton, the center is a microscopically thin membrane that blocks wind and makes the garment waterproof, while the inside layer is ultralight mesh that keeps the fabric from sticking to your skin. This results in a shell material that will keep you dry without restricting your movement. Postalco’s original fabric.

Treatment safety

Our fabric is never treated with C8 water resistant chemistry (PFOA) which can lead to health problems. Woven in Japan from PFOA-free 100% nylon.

Care

Care

・Do not use fabric softener or detergents with fabric softener.
・Hand wash with a mild detergent or dry clean. Also specialized detergents for waterproofed jackets, such as Nikwax, are recommended.
・Do not store wet.
・Place fabric layer over item while ironing.
・Ironing smoothes the surface and helps improve water repellency.
・Durable water repellency may decline with use and washing over time.
Gift Wrapping

Gift wrapping may be a cloth bag or a paper bag. Wrapping materials used will vary depending on the product type and size. Stay dry
It feels like a crisp shirt, but it will keep you dry in a downpour. Slip it on over a t-shirt or light sweater. With the very minimum of cords, no straps, and no velcro to get in the way. The bottom edge has a clean shape like a shirt. The sleeves have a clean finished edge to be rolled up. It took many prototypes to achieve extreme freedom of movement that won’t interfere with your arms when running, biking or other activities.

Keep ventilated
Four vents (2 vents in the front and 2 vents in the back) release moisture from the inside for maximum airflow, Snaps cut from solid aluminum secure your jacket in place. Use the zipper for increased wind protection.

Proof Line Nylon
This jacket and fabric are made in Japan achieving an exceptionally tight weave and a great natural touch. Hidden inside the fabric is a breathable and a completely seam sealed waterproof layer. This three-layer fabric is remarkably thin so you don’t feel weighed down by armor, or crackly, diaper-like fabrics. The three layer material is windproof and breathable so you can forget you're even wearing a jacket. It withstands water pressure 20,000mm and moisture permeability of 8,000g.
